A Thousand Strings brings together over 200 young musicians from across South Africa in a powerful celebration of collaboration, creativity, and shared musical experience. Led by renowned guitarists Guy Buttery and Derek Gripper, this gala concert places young performers at the heart of the Kaleidoscope Festival.

Drawing together ensembles from Grey High School, the Frank Pietersen Music Centre, Music Sprouts, Rustenburg High School, and the ARCO-PACT Strings Project, the programme unfolds as a dynamic meeting of voices—where improvisation, energy, and collective sound create something far greater than the sum of its parts.
