KZNYO Gala Concert 2026

The KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra will present a Gala Concert on Sunday, May 17, at 15:00 PM at the Jewish Hall, Durban.

In a special collaboration, the KZN Youth Orchestra (KZNYO) will team up with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO) to deliver an unforgettable afternoon of music.

Concert Highlights:

Eight talented youth orchestra soloists will perform a variety of solo works accompanied by the KZNPO:

• Laila Jones – Oboe

• Eva Lai – Flute

• Gabriel Pechoux – Voice

• Serena Nip – Cello

• Kashmira Naidoo, Sayuri Mahabeer, Nonjabulo Ndlovu– Violin

• Lance Martegoutte – Trumpet

The KZNPO will present selected orchestral items.

The KZNYO will showcase their own repertoire.

The concert will conclude with a grand finale featuring both orchestras performing together. The concert will be conducted by Chad Hendricks and Lyk Temmingh.
