ABOUT
This is not your typical poetry night.
At Spoken, the audience has a voice too.
This is not about simply listening.
This is a space to reflect.
To feel.
To speak.
To connect
To become part of the experience.
An evening of poetry, reflection, and real conversation.
This edition of Spoken features 4 poets (Kyla, Sean, Luke, Nyx) sharing work that invites us into feeling, reflecting and deeper sharing. With time to journal, share insights, and explore the themes that emerge through thought-provoking conversation, it will be a beautiful night of poetry and connection
BYO: Pillow, journal + pen, and snacks to share
See you there :)
**Proceeds from this event will support Bulungula Incubator, a community-rooted organisation in rural Eastern Cape that I recently had the privilege to have visited and been welcomed into.
Bulungula Incubator is working to sustainably end poverty, supporting the Xhosa Mouth community through education, early childhood development, healthcare, nutrition, youth programmes, skills training, and local livelihood initiatives. Their work has already dopped child mortality rates and increased the number of students who have graduated. Their projects are long-term, community-led, and deeply committed to creating real opportunity for future generations.
By attending this event, you are not only joining a meaningful experience, you are also contributing to impact that continues far beyond the words that are Spoken.
