ABOUT
On 15 May 2026, The Chairman welcomes Eon The Mod for the Durban leg of their powerful Make UBUNTU Great Again (MUGA) Tour — an immersive live performance where poetry, electronic music, and radical imagination collide.
Fresh from the release of their latest live album, “25 Lìve”, this three-piece electronic outfit brings together South African spoken word artist and Poetry Slam champion Ewok, alongside French modular musician and composer Charles Amblard, and acclaimed sound designer and engineer Vincent Hoppe.
Eon The Mod exists at the intersection of poetry, protest, and sonic experimentation. Ewok’s commanding lyricism and socio-political storytelling are woven into improvised electronic soundscapes crafted live by Charles and Vincent, creating performances that are both deeply intimate and explosively expansive.
Their latest release, 25 Lìve, captures the raw energy of their 2025 European tour across France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, culminating in their debut at the renowned Afrovibes Festival in Amsterdam. Now, for the first time, the project arrives in South Africa with the MUGA Tour — beginning right here in Durban before heading to East London, Makhanda, and Johannesburg.
Rooted in conscious socio-political expression, the Make UBUNTU Great Again Tour is more than a concert — it is a call toward justice, humanity, and collective imagination. It speaks to the role of art and artists in shaping a more equitable world and reminds us of the urgency of Ubuntu in our times.
