Drone Day 2026

In celebration of International Drone Day and in honour of late drone pioneer Éliane Radigue, audiences are invited on a journey into the vibrating heart of sound. Across the evening, a seamless flow of shimmering tonalities and low-frequency oscillations will unfold through performances by Aragorn Eloff, Dead Thumb Disco, Duifie, ionhaveaname, Isadora Dustmite, Lolo, Phlegm, Renzo Filinich with Lynn Daphne Rudolph, and Xissara with X14. Guests are encouraged to bring open ears and a comfortable cushion as the night explores immersion, resonance and deep listening.

The event draws inspiration from Radigue’s vision of sound as an endless, living continuum — beyond conventional harmony, structure or temporality. Her writing speaks of pulsations, breath, subtle harmonics and continuous modulation, where sound becomes an immersive space rather than a fixed composition. Through this approach, Drone Day 2026 celebrates the freedom of sustained tones and heightened perception, inviting listeners into an experience of presence, stillness and sonic transformation.

Drone Day 2026 takes place on 30 May from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm at chiesa di PAZZO LUPi in Johannesburg.

Pre-sale tickets are R80, with tickets available at the door for R120. A bar, restaurant and secure parking will be available at the venue.
