ABOUT

Ageing Well Together 2026 | Partnerships for Building Healthy Communities

30 September - 1 October 2026 | CAB Conference Centre | Cape Town

Building the future of care begins with building stronger communities.

South Africa is ageing. At the same time, our communities are becoming more diverse, our care systems face increasing pressure, and new partnerships are needed to ensure that every person can age with dignity, purpose and belonging.

Ageing Well Together 2026 is a two-day conference that brings together older persons, family caregivers, community organisations, healthcare professionals, care providers, researchers, students, policymakers and innovators to explore practical, collaborative solutions for the future of ageing in South Africa.

Hosted by GERATEC, NOAH and Project Scaffold, in collaboration with the Older Persons Care Alliance (OPCA) and a growing network of partners, the conference is designed to move beyond presentations and create meaningful conversations that inspire action.

What makes this conference different?

This is not a conference where you simply sit and listen.

It is a collaborative space where people from different sectors and communities come together to share ideas, challenge assumptions, learn from one another, and build partnerships that continue long after the event ends.

Through keynote conversations, interactive workshops, dialogue sessions, community storytelling and innovation showcases, delegates will explore practical approaches to creating healthier, more connected communities for people of all ages.

Across two inspiring days, participants will explore topics including:

  • Dignity, identity and belonging
  • Community-led care and ageing in place
