Healthcare workers face a wide range of hazards on the job, including needle stick injuries, back injuries, latex allergy, violence, threats, sleep deprivation, exposure to infectious diseases, dealing with difficult or seriously ill patients, dealing with dying patients and stress. Besides the potential harm when on duty, healthcare workers continue to be in the fronlines to serve the community and heal the sick. The Mpumalanga Healthcare Professionals Awards is an annual event that facilitates recognition awards for healthcare professionals as a way of appreciating the good work that they do in saving lives. We believe the recognising healthcare workers will increase efficiency and boost morale of health professionals so as to retain them in the province.DIRECTIONS
