Wowo Mndau Quartet

Wowo Mndau, from Mamelodi in Pretoria, is part of a new generation of South African jazz artists blending tradition with contemporary expression.

His musical journey began with his late uncle, who introduced him to piano, sparking a passion that led him to study music theory at the University of South Africa (UNISA), where his love for jazz fully developed.

Now working on his fifth contemporary jazz album, Wowo is incorporating African influences into his sound, creating a rich fusion that reflects both his roots and modern jazz sensibilities. The album is expected to be released around June 2025.

With his upcoming live performance in Johannesburg, he aims to introduce his music to a broader audience and share a sound that is both authentic and evolving.
