THE JOY
The Joy is a South African band redefining global music with their soul-stirring harmonies and genre-blending sound. Hailing from KwaZulu-Natal, the group has captured hearts around the world through their meteoric rise—marked by critical acclaim, viral moments, and high-profile collaborations.
From their breakout single Isencane Lengane and debut EP Amabutho (2021) to electrifying performances on The Jennifer Hudson Show and Later… with Jools Holland, The Joy has earned praise from global icons including Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, and Jennifer Hudson—who called them her “favorite band” and featured them on her Christmas album The Gift of Love.
Their collaborations span global stars, from a 2023 release with The Blessed Madonna (Shades of Love) to a feature on Doja Cat’s Scarlet 2 CLAUDE album, further solidifying their presence on the world stage. Their commanding live performances have graced iconic platforms—from London’s Church Studios, where they recorded The Joy (Live Album), to major festivals such as Glastonbury, Sole DXB in Dubai, and Coachella 2024, where they captivated audiences with their raw, transcendent sound.
In early 2025, The Joy brought their harmony-rich energy to Australia for a celebrated tour that included performances at the Perth Festival and WOMADELAIDE, expanding their reach to new, enthusiastic audiences. They followed this with a European summer tour across some of the continent’s biggest festival stages, including Sziget, Green Man, Pukkelpop, and Way Out West.
Whether through their international performances or viral social media moments, The Joy continues to spread a message of unity and upliftment. “Life made us friends, music made us brothers.” Their artistry is a celebration of culture, connection, and pure euphoria.
