THE WORLD OF MIRAGE

Mirage is a folkloric tale of a cursed gypsy troupe and their traveling show, who appear in isolated villages overnight, and who use their devilish charm, seductive performances and ancient dark magic to bewitch unsuspecting peasants into hypnotic intoxication, ultimately feeding off the most gifted misfits among them, absorbing their talents and enslaving them to walk the endless caravan procession for all eternity.

As gypsy wanderers they come from distant and exotic lands – North African deserts, Slavic forests, medieval kingdoms, Persian trading ports, Asian mountain settlements, and old forgotten towns along the way. Their tattered clothes, though bleached by the sun, faded by time and worn threadbare by an eternal show that never ends, still carry feint whispers of the diverse cultures they abandoned many years ago.

Our event meets them just after the final bow of the show, in various stages of undress, as they return to their wagons and tents. Revitalized and aroused by the decadent fresh energy and new talents flowing through their veins, our troupe welcome the new souls and continue the wild-spirited celebration through the night, until the first light of dawn fades them back into the ether of ancient myth.

As curators of Cape Town’s most inspired club-events, Incognito Events is proud to offer elite connoisseurs of the nocturnal arts an opportunity to indulge in elaborate, immersive and experiential themed events where art, desire and sound intertwine to allow everyone to leave who they were at the door — and become something else entirely.

THEME: SEDUCTIVE GYPSY FOLKLORE DREAM, IN SHADES OF WHITE

Think bohemian performers in a cursed traveling show, think magical gypsies, think desert nomads, think fantasy gothic side show, and lost souls of medieval villagers. tattered calico, torn lace, faded silks, threadbare cotton, ripped netting, exposed boning and lining, exposed undergarments, bleached scarves and ghostly smudged makeup.

Colour: Predominantly Faded White / Off-white / Cream / Ivory / Light grey / Pastel / Nude-Toned / Antique Silver / Pale Gold - Some black / dark / metallic / jewel-tone colours for accent
