Eyethu Heritage Hall, in partnership with Alliance Française Soweto and the French Institute of South Africa, presents the 5th edition of the Eyethu Franco Xchange, a space for exchanging stories, ideas, and connections between Francophone African communities and Soweto.

This edition, The Architecture of Myth, explores how we construct and inhabit the stories that shape our lives, bridging lived experience and imagination across industrial landscapes, mining towns, and family structures with the evolving world of African animation. Rooted in the “Township DIY” spirit and the “Life Codes” of animation, it reflects on how identity is built through both physical and digital worlds, crafting a futuristic African narrative that remains sacred, authentic, and universally resonant.

Film Screening: The Sacred Cave by Daniel Minlo and Cyrille Mass, a visually immersive animated journey into memory, myth, and the unseen, where ancestral echoes and imagined worlds intertwine, inviting reflection on identity, spirituality, and the landscapes that shape us.
