Homies x Girlies Freedom Day Ride

We’re back with another Homies x Girlies ride — this time, a special Freedom Day edition

These rides are all about bringing the Banditz Bicycle Club and Girls On Bikes communities together to spend the day outdoors, exploring the city on two wheels, and growing the circle a little wider each time. Public holidays can feel slow, so we’re choosing to fill them with movement, connection, and good energy.

We’ll be starting from 44 Stanley, gathering at 09:30 and rolling out at 10:00. We take it slow on purpose — this is a social ride at heart, giving us time to connect, take in the views, and ride a little further together.

Along the way, we’ll pass through parts of Joburg that remind you just how beautiful this city really is.

A few gentle tips to help you enjoy the ride:

• Come fuelled, cycling takes energy, so make sure you’ve had something to eat beforehand

• Bring along small snacks or electrolytes to keep your energy up along the way

• The weather can be unpredictable, so sunscreen and a hat are always a good idea

• Wear whatever feels comfortable, this isn’t a spandex-only kind of ride

• It’s beginner-friendly, but it does ask a little courage, come open to trying something new

A few things to note:

• No walk-ins, bikes and helmets are prepared based on bookings

• Knowing your height helps us get the right fit for you (you can pop into Cycle Boutique at 44 Stanley if you’re unsure)

• Spots are limited and work on a first come, first served basis to keep things fair for everyone

Most importantly, come as you are. The ride is about showing up, sharing the journey, and enjoying the freedom of being out there together.
