ABOUT
Move Different: self-mastery through movement
This is a two-hour movement laboratory, where the body becomes a site of inquiry - not something to push through, but something to move with.
Tension is a story. So is stiffness. So is feeling stuck.
In this workshop we get curious about those patterns - where they live, how they move, what they're protecting. Then we work with them: through functional mobility, somatic practice, and expressive movement. This isn't about achieving anything particular, it's about listening to what your body has to say and allowing authentic movement to emerge.
We'll work with practices that help you move from anatomical awareness into full embodied expression, discovering the poetry that naturally arises when we truly inhabit our bodies. This is an active, engaging session where you'll experience:
- Mindfulness techniques that support nervous system regulation
- Dynamic mobility sequences that open and strengthen your body
- Challenges to strengthen balance, coordination, and flexibility
- Expressive movement practices that integrate physical work with creative discovery
What To Bring:
- Comfortable clothes that you can move in
- Sweat towel
- Water bottle
The Approach:
This workshop draws from embodied awareness practices, trauma-informed somatic work, and expressive movement arts. You're encouraged to follow your body's intelligence, modify freely, and rest whenever needed. The emphasis remains on internal awareness, choice, and the profound wisdom that lives within each person's embodied experience. Space will be created for both guided exploration and organic discovery.
About The Facilitator:
Page is a facilitator, poet, and movement guide with over 10 years of experience in therapeutic group facilitation and somatic-based practices. Their expertise encompasses Yoga, free movement, meditation, breathwork, and trauma-informed bodywork. Page's journey into somatic healing deepened in 2017 when they worked as a certified Recovery Coach at a rehabilitation center in Johannesburg, developing a profound understanding of how the body holds both trauma and the capacity for healing.
Their own navigation of chronic illness and cancer has taught them to listen deeply to what bodies need - not what they should do, but what they're asking for. This intimate relationship with vulnerability shapes every workshop they hold, creating space for others to meet their own bodies with curiosity rather than judgment.
About The Venue:
This event is proudly hosted at Stronger Together, Cape Town - an NPC and gym space dedicated to healing historical, social and personal trauma through fitness and community empowerment.
