Untitled Basement is proud to host a first of its kind moment in Johannesburg. For the first time, the London collective / label Cashmere Thoughts brings its artists together for a two night live showcase in the city.

(Malik) Venna, is a Grammy Award winning alto saxophonist and producer. He gained prominence playing on albums by Burna Boy and Beyoncé before releasing his debut studio album MALIK in 2025, featuring collaborators like Jorja Smith and Yussef Dayes. This self-titled debut carries a warm, expansive sound shaped by jazz, rap, and R&B.

Elijah Fox is a Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist, pianist and producer whose playing drifts between jazz, soul and impressionist textures. His style varies from low-fi to hip hop, neo-soul, and even veers toward trap and rock.

Yussef Dayes, is a South East London drummer, composer and producer whose sound moves between jazz, Afrobeat, funk and hip hop. His collaborations and debut solo album Black Classical Music has marked him as one of the defining voices in contemporary jazz, especially in the UK.

Also on the bandstand is powerhouse percussionist Al B (Alex Bourt), and Jacob McGibbon, a young Canadian guitarist currently touring with Yussef Dayes.

On the decks: Dj Kenzhero, is one of the pioneers of the South African Hip Hop DJ Scene. For decades he has been infusing Jazz, Soul, Funk, Samba and Hip Hop to move audiences across the globe. His latest release, “What is Wrong with Groovin’” is an acclaimed jazz record.

Expect an intimate room, close listening and two nights that will not be repeated.
