ABOUT
BREAKING THE TABOO SUMMIT
Hosted by Thari ya Pula Foundation in collaboration with SACAP.
The Breaking the Taboo Summit is a one-day, conference-style event creating a safe and informative space to explore the realities of infertility, pregnancy loss, and mental health.
This event brings together individuals with lived experience, mental health professionals, researchers, students, and advocates to open up honest conversations around a topic often surrounded by silence and stigma.
What to expect:
• Expert-led panel discussions
• Lived experience storytelling
• Conversations bridging research, practice, and community realities
• A safe, respectful, and engaging environment
Who should attend:
• Individuals navigating infertility (e.g. unexplained infertility, IVF journeys, fertility challenges)
• Individuals who have experienced pregnancy loss (e.g. miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal loss, pregnancy loss following IVF, medical termination)
• Friends and family wanting to better support loved ones
• Students and emerging professionals
• Researchers and practitioners
• Anyone interested in reproductive and mental health
This summit recognises the importance of lived experience , not only for healing, but as a valuable voice in shaping future research, practice, and policy.
Join us as we move from silence to dialogue, and from stigma to understanding.
