Hanepoot Brass Band in Barrydale

The Hanepoot Brass Band is a delicious totally acoustic 8-piece brass band comprising 6 horns and a 2-piece rhythm section, similar to the famous brass bands of New Orleans and some of the smaller community bands making up the large street bands of the Kaapse Klopse, Cape Town's annual carnival. The HBB performs music in the indigenous jazz styles of South Africa, with strong roots in Cape Town goema.
