PRINGLE PROMS CAKE BAKING WORKSHOP WITH BRIAN BERKMAN

Sat May 9, 10:00 - Sat May 9, 13:00

Pringle Proms

ABOUT

Join Brian Berkman for a hands-on morning of baking beloved classics — a small, convivial workshop limited to just ten people, in the intimate Pringle Proms tradition.

Together, we will bake:

Jenny Morris's Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing

“This cake is better than sex!” — someone’s aunt, entirely unsolicited.

With three generous cups of carrots, this is practically a health food. It is certainly one of the best carrot cakes you will ever make.

Nigella Lawson’s Chocolate Brownies

With this recipe and its brilliant swop-outs, you need never bake a chocolate cake again. Everyone prefers the moist, fudgy brownie — and it looks gloriously dramatic mounted on a platter ablaze with birthday candles.

Nigella Lawson’s Clementine Cake

Easy to make, dairy-free, gluten-free, and jammed with nubbly citrus deliciousness. It works beautifully for afternoon tea and doubles elegantly as a dinner party dessert.

Oat Cookies (and Variations)

The humble oat cookie may conjure images of austere Quaker tins, but with a few clever variations in your repertoire, you will always have a jar of wholesome, ready-to-eat treats on the go.

After the workshop, we will sit down together for a relaxed, simple lunch with artisan bread and a big salad. You are welcome to take home any leftovers to share with family — because good food is always better shared.

Feel free to bring your own wine or special beverages; tea, coffee, and sugar-free drinks will be provided throughout the morning.

Fee: R495 per person. Limited to 10 participants to ensure individual attention.

Bookings: Quicket
