Tue Mar 24, 19:00 - Tue Mar 24, 20:45

Auditorium, South Campus

ABOUT

Presented as part of the Ingoma Concert Series at Nelson Mandela University’s Department of Music and Performing Arts, Sea Change explores the beauty and fragility of our oceans through sound.

Featuring David Bester, Lieva Starker (violins), Jan-Hendrik Harley (viola), Anmari van der Westhuizen (cello), Mariechen Meyer (double bass), and Mark Phelps (electronics), the programme blends acoustic and electronic textures in a rich, immersive sound world.

Works by Antonín Dvorák, Luigi Boccherini, Jan-Hendrik Harley, and Lize Briel offer reflections on shifting environments and sonic landscapes. A special highlight includes a performance on a unique dulcimer handcrafted by Thembeka Booi.

Sea Change invites audiences to listen, reflect, and reconnect with a changing ocean.
