ABOUT

Fungi - the soil magicians of the earth, these creatures have long been renowned for their edible, medicinal, spiritual and soil building qualities. Recently repopularised for newly discovered applications such as pollution remediation, water filtration, industrial and building materials (packaging, furniture and building bricks), immunity for bees and much more, join us as we explore these mystical creatures and learn how to cultivate them at home using low tech methods. We'll be covering:
  • Mushroom basics
  • Liquid innoculation
  • Cardboard spawn
  • Hessian sack spawn
  • Crate / laundry basket cultivation
  • Bucket cultivation
  • Log cultivation, and
  • Mushroom beds
This is a participatory and practical workshop where we'll be implementing all of the above leaving you equipped with everything you need to go home and cultivate your own mushrooms, low tech.

Cost per person is R300.

In the spirit of transparency, please see this link for a breakdown of our estimated costs.
