ABOUT
The Academy of Jewish Thought & Learning takes great pleasure in inviting you to join us in a breakfast celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, and of those heroes and heroines who brought it to fruition.
Guest speaker, MK Dr Avraham Neguise, began life as a shepherd and has risen to lead the Ethiopian community in Israel - a remarkable fulfilment of the vision of the Balfour Declaration. The only Ethiopian Jew in the current Knesset, MK Neguise is multi-lingual, holds a BA and MA in Social Work, an LLB, an MA and a PhD in Education. He has championed the Aliyah of all Ethiopian Jews and is currently the Chairman of the Aliyah, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs Committee.
Our guest of honour is Dov Landau. After surviving 6 years under Nazi rule, suffering the loss of his entire family, Auschwitz and Death Marches, Dov made Aliyah and fought in 1948, was captured and spent over a year in a Jordanian camp. Dov joined the ranks of those heroes and heroines who fought to make the Balfour Declaration a reality. We will be honouring Dov for his work as an educator and inspiration to thousands worldwide.
This is a private event. All rights of entrance are reserved for this event. For security reasons, all breakfast invitees will be screened and if they do not meet security requirements will not be admitted. Any false statements regarding the identity of attendees or any disruptive or destructive behaviour will result in the attendee being ejected from the event with no refund.
