Join us at the historic Cape Town Club for an evening of exquisite chamber music that breathes life into the elemental forces of nature.
Performed by the dynamic ensemble "Fifth Element," this concert features a vibrant and intimate programme for clarinet and string quartet. Listeners will be taken on a curated journey connecting music to Wind (breath and storms), Earth (folk melodies and landscapes), and Fire (passion and virtuosity).
The Programme
The evening promises a delightful variety of genres, from Klezmer and Tango to Opera, Jazz, and the Classics:
- Wind: Featuring Satie’s Gymnopedie No. 1, Baermann’s Adagio, and selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
- Earth: Including Ravel’s Pavane for a Dead Princess, Mozart’s Quintet Mvt 4, and Kovács’ Sholem-alekhem.
- Fire: A high-energy finale featuring Weber, Gade’s Jalousie Tango, and Piazzolla’s Yo Soy Maria.
