Herschel Girls Production: The Watsons

Dearest Gentle Reader,

It is with the greatest delight that I report a most intriguing theatrical affair has arrived upon our stage - The Watsons, as reimagined by the delightfully mischievous Laura Wade.

One might expect a polite Regency romance: eligible gentlemen, dutiful daughters, and the comforting promise of marriage. But how dreadfully predictable that would be. Instead, what unfolds is something far more scandalous - a story that refuses to behave, characters who dare to question their fate, and an author who may not be as firmly in control as she imagines.

At the centre of it all is Miss Emma Watson: newly arrived, keenly observed, and surrounded by a most tantalising selection of suitors. There is charm, there is fortune, there is piety… and yet, dear reader, certainty remains in tragically short supply.

For just as hearts begin to flutter and futures seem poised to settle, the very fabric of the story begins to unravel.
