ABOUT
Top Women, adapted by Megan Martell and co-directed by Hlumelo Moloi, is a bold and imaginative stage production that brings together extraordinary women from across history and the modern world - from activists and artists to leaders and revolutionaries - in one powerful shared space. As their voices collide and connect, the play explores what it really means to fight for freedom, equality, and recognition as a woman.
Through poetic storytelling, music, and moments of humour and confrontation, Top Women asks urgent questions about power, identity, and the cost of success in a world that still struggles to hear women fully. Featuring iconic figures such as Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Rosa Parks, Frida Kahlo and more, the production highlights how the battles these women fought continue to echo today.
At a time when issues like gender inequality, gender-based violence, and the fight for representation remain deeply relevant, Top Women reminds us that the voices of women, past and present, still have the power to challenge, inspire, and change the world.
