ABOUT
An Evening of Stargazing & Wonder!
Treat your friends and family to a night where the stars come alive above you. At the stunning Casalinga venue in Muldersdrift, you’ll step onto expansive lawns that feel like an escape from the city - calm, open, and perfect for stargazing.
Make it a complete experience: enjoy a meal or drink at Casalinga’s renowned restaurant or grab a takeaway and share a relaxed picnic under the stars.
Then the magic begins...
As the night sky darkens, you’ll look through powerful telescopes and:
- See the Moon’s craters and valleys in breathtaking detail (and snap a photo of it with your phone!)
- See Jupiter & its Galilean moons...you'll even see the gas clouds on the planet!
- Explore constellations, a nebula and spot double stars
- Discover glittering star clusters and hidden asterisms
- Enjoy a laser-guided tour of the night sky
Guiding your journey is Vicus Cruywagen - passionate telescope maker and avid skywatcher - who will bring the universe to life with fascinating insights.
This isn’t just stargazing - it’s a chance to slow down, look up, and share an unforgettable evening of wonder with those you love.

* Weather and Clothing: We'll be outdoors the entire time, so dress warm.
* Insect Protection: During summer, mosquito repellent is recommended.
* Food and Seating: No food/drinks from outside allowed. The restaurant will be open (take-aways also available). Bring a camping chair along - picnic blankets are also welcome.
* Ticket Policy: Tickets are non-refundable. If the event has to be postponed due to bad weather, your ticket(s) may be used for any other general public stargazing event of your choice within the next year.
