Join us on 18 April 2026 for a special live performance by Nibs van der Spuy, one of South Africa’s most extraordinary and respected acoustic guitarists and singer-songwriters.

Raised in the fertile province of KwaZulu-Natal, Nibs immersed himself in the natural world around him and developed a deeply original sound rooted in African rhythm, folk traditions, and delicate acoustic textures. His music is widely celebrated for its warmth, emotional depth, and masterful guitar work.

Nibs first gained international attention while supporting Crosby, Stills & Nash during their South African tour and was soon signed to the Sheer South African World Music label, where he released over ten acclaimed albums.

His third solo album, Beautiful Feet, received widespread international recognition, earning Album of the Month in German publications and Radio France FIP. Over the years he has toured extensively around the world, sharing stages with renowned artists including Ben Harper, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Gito Baloi, Kelly Joe Phelps, and Shawn Phillips, and collaborating with fellow South African guitar virtuoso Guy Buttery.

In 2022, Nibs released his first solo album in seven years, Maiden of the River, written during the Lisbon coast lockdowns and widely praised for its message of hope, healing, and balance.

His performances are known for their intimate atmosphere, soulful storytelling, and mesmerising acoustic guitar work — drawing audiences into a musical journey that feels both powerful and deeply personal.
