ABOUT
The St David’s Marist Inanda Music Department is immensely proud to present the inaugural St David’s Music Festival from 25 to 27 March. This Festival is a showcase of incredible musicalal talent, featuring our boys from JP, through SP to College across both the Alex and Sandton campuses. Each evening, different St David’s ensembles and choirs will perform, with exciting performances from guest artists.
As part of the Centenary Legacy Campaign, the Music Department is excited to reinvigorate the St David’s Friends of the Arts Circle to continue to support and grow St David’s Cultural initiatives. The St David’s Friends of the Arts Circle was launched as a legacy project as part of the 2016 Jubillee celebrations to support the further growth and development of cultural activities at St David’s. Primarily through curated events, coordinated by the St David’s Cultural Department in collaboration with St David’s Arts parents, the Circle raised funds in support of various Arts initiatives. In this same way, proceeds from our Music Festival will go directly towards developing the school’s instrumental programme across both campuses to broaden and enrich the education of all St David’s students, present and future. This initiative will continue with the second annual St David’s Jazz Fest in May and beyond.
The Festival bring an extravaganza of performances by our Prep and College bands and choirs, appealing to all ages:
- Wednesday, 25 March: THE MAGIC BEGINS features all the JP musical groups alongside the College Jazz Band and other ensembles
- Thursday, 26 March: SOIL TO SOUL showcases our SP and College Concert Bands and other ensembles
- Friday, 27 March: ROCK ON! features the Music Department’s dynamic rock programme.
- On the first 2 nights, audiences will witness first hand the fruits of this term’s pilot Instrumental Programme as it has expanded in 2025 from African musical instruments to now include string and brass instruments.
We enthusiastically invite you to come celebrate the diversity and growth of music at St David’s, and support the Arts programme ast St David’s:
- Day tickets are R140 each for adults and R70 for children (7 years and under).
- An Adult Festival Pass for all 3 Days is R300, and allows access on all three nights.
We look forward to welcoming our community to this spectacular showcase of talent - of the boys and of our Music Department. Should you wish to add your further support to the growth and development of the Arts at St David’s, you are invited to make a donation when purchasing your ticket on Quicket - there will be a donation option on the ticketing page for donations below R1000. Donations of R1000 and above may be made directly through the St David’s Marist Foundation should you require a Section 18A tax certificate.
We look forward to welcoming you to the first St David’s Music Festival!
