Did your granny give you a sewing machine you’re too scared to plug in? Did you order one off Takealot after watching one too many TikToks where sewing your own clothes looked suspiciously easy? Have you struggled through a few YouTube tutorials and quietly given up?

This session is for you.

Join us for a relaxed evening of getting to know your sewing machine. We’ll go through all the parts step by step, learn the basics of sewing, and practise your new skills on a simple beginner project.

Along the way, we’ll also chat about patterns, fabric, and other tips to help you feel confident in and excited about taking the next steps in your sewing journey.

What to bring

A working sewing machine. All other materials will be provided.

Please note: Your machine must be in working condition. If you’re not sure about the state of your machine, take it to Ross in Tokai, who can carry out a simple service for you!

If you'd like drinks, dinner, or snacks, you'll be able to order from the Arthur's Mini Super kitchen!

We’re meeting at Arthur's Mini Super. Park on Arthur's Road, but if you can't find parking there, then Main Road and Beach Road are a few steps away.
