ABOUT

Connection Lab: Picnic & Play (Meeting & Matching)

Ages 39–55 (Guide Only)

You’ve learned the Language of Connection in our Foundations Lab. Now, it’s time for the Playground.

This is a facilitated Meeting & Matching event—a social ecosystem designed to bypass "mixer anxiety" through collaborative contribution and parallel play. Whether you are looking for a romantic match, a future friendship tribe, or simply to expand your social circle, this afternoon is designed to show you who people really are through shared action.

Note on Age: While this event is curated for the 39–55 demographic, this is only a guide. If you fall outside this range but align with the content, values, and ideas we explore, you are more than welcome to join the tribe.

The Mechanic: Curation & Contribution

To ensure a balanced "tribe" and shared effort, every guest plays a vital role. Upon booking, your spot is secured, and you will be contacted prior to the event to be assigned one of the following roles:

  • The Providers: You are the foundation. You’ll be asked to bring a picnic blanket and a selection of finger foods (Biltong, quiches, etc., including veg options).
  • The Hosts: You are the energy. You’ll be asked to bring the drinks (Ice tea, juices, etc.) and a "3-Minute Game" or prompt (Cards, Jenga, or conversation starters).

This is a Conscious Sober Event—we kindly ask for drinks that support a clear-minded, stimulant-free space.

The Facilitation Flow

  • Phase 1: The Tribe Build | Group rotations in small "Blanket Pods." Observe group dynamics and enjoy shared games in a low-pressure setting.
  • Phase 2: The Deep Dive | High-speed 1-on-1 rotations. "Given" a blanket, connect for 5–10 minutes, and move to a new station when the whistle blows.

What to Expect

  • Skill Refresher: A brief session on Boundaries, Consent, and Authentic Relating.
  • Intentional Meeting: Facilitated rotations to ensure you connect with as many people as possible.
  • No-Sting Matching: Our double-blind system remains—contact details are only shared if the interest is mutual.
  • Bonus – Ecstatic Dance (17:00): Transition from "Mind" to "Body" with a social dance event at the same venue immediately after the Lab. (Additional fee payable in advance or at the event).
