20 YEARS CELEBRATION OF BRACKEN FRIENDS

The Friends of Bracken turns 20 this year! Join us for the Bracken Nature Reserve 20 YEARS CELEBRATION by Friends of Bracken Nature Reserve, in partnership with City of Cape Town and in collaboration with Duprelen Accountants and Pam Golding Properties Brackenfell.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual stroller or simply looking for a fun day out with family and friends, this event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels.

There will be a variety of activities, music entertainment and stalls. Benches are spread out in the reserve for a family to have a picnic during the event.

What to Expect:

5 KM FUN RUN

• 8H00
• R50 adults and R20 kids (under 13).
• Walkers and runners are welcome.
• Refreshments will be provided.
• Medals for all finishers.

Rock Painting

• Free rock painting for kids of all ages.
• 9H00 - 10H20
• Theme: paint any animal (bird, mammal, reptile, insect, etc.) found in the wild of South Africa.

HISTORICAL WALK

• Free guided walk.
• 9H30 - 10H20
• History of an area before it became a nature reserve.
• Learn about the VOC signal cannon, granite quarry and landfill site.

HISTORICAL TALK

• Free talk at Environmental Centre.
• 10H30 - 11H00
• From then until now: Bracken Nature Reserve and the Friends of Bracken.

Gates will open from 07H00.
