Debate: What is Antisemitism? (Johannesburg)

Thu Mar 12, 19:00 - Thu Mar 12, 21:00

Philip V Tobias Health Sciences Building

ABOUT

Antisemitism has escalated alarmingly in the past two years. The world has not been this unsafe for diaspora Jews in decades. What is less clear is what we are talking about when we use the word "antisemitism". What is it, and what is it not? And why is there so much more of it today?

At our JDI event on Thursday 12 March, we are proud to present two outspoken legal experts discussing their very different views about one of the most contentious issues facing the Jewish community today. On your left, Judge Dennis Davis. On your right, Advocate Mark Oppenheimer.

Where

The debate will be hosted in Cape Town, Observatory at Groote Schuur Hospital in the Neurosciences Institute Auditorium and will be live streamed to our Johannesburg venue, the Philip V Tobias Centre, Parktown.

When

12 March, 19:00

The event is free to all who book.
