ABOUT
Thicket Forum 2026 – Camdeboo National Park
9–11 June 2026 | Camdeboo National Park Learning Centre
The Thicket Forum invites you to its annual gathering in the heart of the Eastern Cape. Join researchers, land managers, farmers, practitioners, rural communities, students, and conservation partners for three days of focused discussion on the sustainable management and restoration of Subtropical Thicket.
Established in 2004, the Forum brings together a diverse community united by a shared commitment to one of South Africa’s most remarkable ecosystems — Subtropical Thicket (also known as Valley Bushveld). This biome supports exceptional plant diversity, high levels of endemism, and provides vital ecosystem services including habitat provision, carbon storage, forage, medicinal resources, and culturally significant species. With over 70% of thicket transformed or degraded, informed collaboration is essential.
Whether you work in research, policy, restoration, agriculture, environmental assessment, or community development, this is a space for engagement, knowledge exchange, and practical solutions.
Professional Accreditation: This is a SACNASP and EAPASA Registered Event (2.5 CPD credits available for registered members).
