SYNOPSIS:

Deus nos acudi” is a contemporary dance work that investigates the body within both local and global spaces, moving across different times, situations and contexts. The performance emerges as a bodily expression that questions and dialogues with consumerist societies and the place of the body in contemporaneity, reflecting from the cultural universe of the performer- creator. The research explores how beliefs, secularized religiosity, divinities, rituals, and myths are intertwined with everyday life, and how these elements — historically — serve as strategies for the maintenance of power and social control.
