ABOUT
The Breath that has no Breather
This gentle exploration of conscious-connected breathwork invites in the possibility of the breath's intelligence. No prior experience is required, and the space will be held with care and a deep commitment to safety. You will be guided into consciously shifting your pattern of breath, connecting the inbreath and outbreath, folding them into each other. This breath pattern sets off a cascade of physiological and biochemical processes which hold transformative and consciousness expanding power.
You are encouraged to minimise caffeine intake before this event, and not to eat in the 2 hours before. You should also leave time and space afterwards for integration of the effects.
Bio
Shivani Ranchod is a friend on the path. Her approach to both meditation and breathwork is grounded in the power of communal practice, of integration into everyday life "in the midst of it all", in safety, and in the wisdom of the body. As a mother, an academic, an entrepreneur and an emergent systems strategist, her work extends off the mat into reshaping learning environments, institutions and health systems. Her approach is centred on "one mountain, many paths" and in compassionate action: how do we translate wisdom teachings and practices to be of shared benefit?
She is a certified breathwork practitioner, trained by Breathwork Africa, and her meditation practice is rooted into the Thai Forest tradition.
