ABOUT
Gustavo Romero, Piano
Internationally acclaimed pianist Gustavo Romero presents a captivating program celebrating the rich tapestry of Russian piano music. From the dreamlike lyricism of Anton Rubinstein’s Rêve Angélique to the fiery virtuosity of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (arr. Agosti), this recital offers a journey through profound emotional landscapes and dazzling pianistic colour.
Highlights include Prokofiev’s vibrant Danza, the poetic intimacy of Medtner’s Canzona Serenata, and the sweeping drama of Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a Theme by Chopin, Op. 22—one of the composer’s most ambitious and passionate works. The heart of the program features a curated selection of Alexander Scriabin’s preludes, tracing his evolution from lyrical romanticism to mystical intensity.
With his signature depth, clarity, and expressive range, Gustavo Romero brings these masterworks to life in an evening of extraordinary artistry.
