RAVEL ZINE JAM
Sat Feb 28, 10:00 - Sat Feb 28, 16:00
Homecoming Centre
ABOUT
RAVEL is jamming again! The zine jams are consistently our favourite events, bringing a quiet, quirky community to collaborate and/or cowork with physical materials.
If you haven't attended before and don't know what a 'zine jam' even is - well, folk get together to assemble small experiences packaged as booklets, pamphlets, magazines, maps or anything really. They can be unique or photocopied. They can be filled with writing or drawings or collages or anything really.
This February we're leaning further into that in two ways... Number one is our theme: ANALOG. Literally 'analog' means data stored in physical qualities, but it has become the antithesis of modern progress, and maybe the antidote to modern problems. Which leads to number two: we're asking participants to turn off phones during the jam.
So bring your stationary. Bring your old magazines. Bring your friends. And jam with us.

FAQ:
- Phones off? Really?
- Yes. Or at least switched to airplane mode. If you are an emergency contact you can set your DND mode to only let through appropriate callers.
- Must I be there the whole day?
- No, but we do strongly recommend it. Especially for the beginning when we chat about Making, Collaborating, and Setting Intentions.
- Will there be food provided?
- There will be light snacks and beverages. Bring more to share. There's also a coffee shop/bar downstairs and many places nearby for lunch.
- What the accessibility situation?
- There is an elevator and ramps to get to the top floor where the Maker's Massive office is located - however there are several steps before the main area and the bathroom, which is otherwise suitably set up. Volunteers can be organised for anyone with mobility needs.
