Young Artists Novo Duo: Josie McClure (saxophone) & Seung-Ree Lee (piano)

Old Nectar Concerts welcomes Novo Duo with saxophonist Josie McClure and pianist Seung-Ree Lee to Old Nectar gardens’ historic wine cellar in Jonkershoek. This concert programme captures the dynamic interplay between lyricism and virtuosity, tracing the expressive evolution of the saxophone–piano duo from early 20th-century French elegance to vibrant contemporary works.

Josie McClure holds Master’s degrees in classical saxophone performance from Stellenbosch University and the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, while Seung-Ree Lee completed her piano studies at Stellenbosch University, earning her master’s degree in solo piano with distinction in 2025. Novo Duo invites audiences into a rich sound world that balances accessibility with depth, highlighting the remarkable colour, warmth, and expressive power that emerge when saxophone and piano unite.

Tickets are R200 per person and include selected wines from Banhoek’s acclaimed Oldenburg Wine Estate as well as finger food during the interval. Student and learner tickets are available for R50. Guests are encouraged to arrive early or linger afterward to enjoy the serene beauty of the Old Nectar gardens.
