Love Stories under the Cedars - Valentine’s Day Picnic at Northwards

The crazy mining town of Johannesburg was all about gold, and men from all over the world poured into the mining camp in search of their fortunes. The only problem was an extreme shortage of women! After all, even the most hardened fortune seekers still wanted to find love.

Since then, Joburg has remained a rather rough and ready place where commerce reigned supreme, but many wonderful love affairs have nevertheless taken root across our concrete jungle.

This Valentine’s Day, join your us for a delightful picnic under the Himalayan Cedar trees on the lawns of Northwards as we regale you with some of Joburg’s most iconic love stories.

You can also take the opportunity to browse the JHF’s newly launched Book Room at Northwards, which will be open from 11h00, to find the perfect Valentine’s Day present.

Please bring along your own picnic with folding chairs or a blanket, as well as suntan lotion and hat. If you are able to, please wear some red or pink in honour of the day.
