ABOUT
Cape Town’s High-End Blues presents the Eric Clapton Experience, a soulful journey through the career of "Slowhand." This premier 6-piece ensemble specializes in the "tone-and-feel" mastery of the blues, drawing deep inspiration from the laid-back grooves of JJ Cale and the legendary phrasing of Eric Clapton.
The group features a powerhouse lineup of seasoned musicians, including:
- Beshara Ornellas (Vocals): A natural vocalist and Hard Rock SA competition winner, continuing the legacy of her father, Dave Ornellas (HAwk).
- Lance Allam (Guitar/Violin/Harmonica): A master of finger-style guitar reminiscent of Mark Knopfler, adding rich texture and storytelling to their sound.
- Mark James Buchanan (Guitar): A veteran performer (Nelly Furtado, Just Jinjer) focused on vintage "Clapton-esque" phrasing and authentic 1960s Fender tones.
- Greg Clifton (Keyboards): An experienced blues and jazz virtuoso, formerly of Late Final.
- John McWilliams (Bass) & Hugh Norval (Drums): A rhythm section defined by warmth, groove, and tasteful restraint.
