ABOUT ZACH AND ROLAND

Zachary Esau is a Cape Town–based actor and comedian. He holds a degree in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town and has appeared in numerous professional productions, including Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Maynardville. As a comedian, Zachary is a three-time Jive Funny Championship finalist and has showcased his stand-up work at the National Arts Festival.

Roland is a swiss army knife creative: actor, comedian, writer, and musician. Recently, Roland’s play Rescue Remedy was nominated for best solo show at Woordfees. They also run Drama & Dragons, a theatre/D&D workshop series for kids. Roland’s work focuses on queer joy, intergenerational trauma, and the reclaiming of Afrikaans culture on one’s own terms. Roland believes that we connect with art that shows vulnerability. They want more queer stories with happy endings.
