Our first Studio Visit takes us into the kitchen and creative world of Mpho Phalane, founder of Food I Love You.

This intimate midday gathering invites us into Mpho’s practice — where food becomes storytelling, memory, care, and cultural expression. Set within her own space, the conversation unfolds around process & intention.

In parallel, we’ll also have a flower market where you can pick up fresh blooms for yourself or someone special.

Join us for a moment in your day of listening, tasting, and shared presence — where the conversation is shaped by place, and the table becomes the meeting point. Conversation promptly from 11h30AM.

STUDIO VISITS is a natural extension of how we like to gather.

While we love our home at Mamakashaka & Friends, we’re stepping outside the walls and into the spaces where the work actually lives.

This series takes our conversations in situ — into studios, workshops, kitchens, rehearsal rooms, and creative environments — meeting artists, makers, and thinkers on their own terms.

Each visit is an invitation to slow down, listen closely, and engage with process, practice, and place.

Same warmth. Same depth.
