ABOUT

Guest Speaker: Ivor Swartz

We are honoured to welcome Ivor Swartz as our guest speaker for the Parents and Community Talk during Christian Art Festival Week (CAF) at Thomas More College.

Ivor Swartz is a South African motivational speaker, pastor and author whose life story is a profound testimony of grace, mercy and redemption. Raised in Grabouw and confronted with significant hardship from a young age, his early life was marked by loss, substance abuse and gang involvement, which ultimately led to a six-year prison sentence. It was during this time, in the depths of brokenness, that Ivor encountered God’s grace and mercy in a life-changing way — an encounter that transformed his heart, restored his purpose and saved his life.

Once imprisoned, Ivor now stands as a powerful messenger of hope, restoration and faith. Today, he serves as a pastor at St Paul’s United Church in Johannesburg and leads youth and young adult ministries. He holds a degree in Theology and is currently completing his Honours degree. Through his work, Ivor has visited more than 50 schools across South Africa, inspiring young people to believe in their God-given potential and reminding them that their past does not define their future.

His message of transformation, healing and purpose resonates deeply with parents, educators and young people alike, offering a living testimony of what is possible through God’s redeeming love.
