ABOUT
Join us on 29 January from 7pm till late at the Bree Street Community Hub (behind Clarke’s Bar & Dining Room)for a Comedy Fundraiser for Sudan, hosted by Protest as Praxis and That’s Not Funny. This gathering is rooted in mutual aid and decolonial solidarity—not charity, but collective responsibility and shared struggle. As Sudan faces ongoing violence, particularly in Darfur, millions of internally displaced people—mostly women and children—are surviving in camps under the threat of militia violence, torture, and sexual assault. Children, many without families or protection, are pushed into dangerous forms of labour, trafficking, and armed groups, while the absence of healthcare, food systems, and safe shelter deepens the crisis. This night uses comedy as a praxis: a way to gather, redistribute resources, and refuse distance from Sudan’s struggle. Come be part of a community-led effort that centres dignity, accountability, and action.
