Following two sold-out performances in December at Untitled Basement and the lovely reception in Johannesburg, Athi returns with an intimate evening featuring a band of South African musicians he admires, voices and players who inspire him, weaving live instrumentation into something truly alive.

Athi invites special musical guests and people he enjoys listening to: Ndabo Zulu, composer, trumpeter, and bandleader whose adventurous approach to jazz, neo-soul, R&B, and South African alternative music has influenced Athi’s own musical choices, and Thando Zide, a vocalist Athi has followed since UMvulo, whose phrasing, emotion, and depth make her a natural collaborator. They will join the ensemble for a song or two, adding their colors to the palette and letting the music speak first and foremost.

Expect warmth, connection, and the quiet magic of musicians in a room listening to each other, making every note matter.
