ABOUT
Concert 2: From Heart to Tongue – Dowland rarities performed by the Lutesong Consort
This year marks the 400th year anniversary of the death of John Dowland. To celebrate his work as the father of the lute song genre to which we owe our name, Lutesong Consort will be hosting a series of events at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, De Waterkant, Cape Town.
Following the success of their two previous all-Dowland concerts (From Court to Cottage (2022), From Source to Stream (2023)) the Lutesong Consort now presents the third in the series: From Heart to Tongue. The programme will consist of some of Dowland's most expressive songs as published in his last songbook entitled "A Pilgrime's Solace". With Elsabé Richter, Lente Louw, Willem Bester, Keaton Manwaring (voices), Uwe Grosser (lute), Rosamund Roth and Colleen Oxtoby (viols).
