ABOUT
We’ve turned the page to 2026, and we invite you to kickstart the year with a late-January Genre Fluid Fiesta in our cozy Woodstock music studio.
We’ve been cooking up something fresh, juicy, and delightfully unexpected to counter the intensity of Cape Town’s infamous dry summers.
Yes, we are bringing live music, genre-bending beats and a special performance from our special friends SABC4 into the Genre Fluid fold.
With that framework clearly in place we are thrilled to announce the evenings agenda.
We’ll start slow and soulful, warm up together, and then melt seamlessly into a night of sounds that surprise, collide, and flow.
THE FLOW
17:00 – 18:00ish
Doors open. Chilled tunes, friendly banter, homemade ice-tea or a cool drink to slip cooly into the evening.
18:00 – 19:00ish
Open-mic jam session opened by (Uncle) Andrew Van Diemen, featuring Sai Moopen (Akalika), Thabo Krouwkam (Thabo and the crows) and those musicians among us who are keen to have some fun together. Instruments, voices, rhythms are welcome. Come play, listen, or simply soak it in.
19:00 – 20:00ish
SABC4 takes the stage with a live set that will lift the room and set the tone. SABC4 is a bold sonic experiment, fusing ancestral African rhythms with futuristic soundscapes, rooted in Afrodelik soul. This one is not to be missed.
20:00 – 21:30ish
The liquid grooves of Lakritsi with genre-blending, mood-shifting, body-moving goodness.
21:30 – 23:00ish
Dol’gina brings it home with a sultry, soulful blend of her favourite genres from funk & hiphop to house & electronic music of all kinds.

• The lovely Lady's Brew serving up her delicious fermented cocktails, full of fizzy & exotic flavour.
• Our dear TeaMaster Sean Du Plessis hosting a DIY tea-blending lounge upstairs. Mix your own tincture... sit, sip, connect
• Non alcoholic drinks will be on sale
• BYO alcoholic drinks (fridge to keep things cool is available) & BYO cup! Let's leave less trace :)

Come dressed as your favourite genre.
Punk rock? Berlin techno? Jazz? R&B? Or maybe Chaotic post-hardcore?
Go bold. Go weird. Go nostalgic. Go full fantasy.
All styles encouraged. Genre rules happily broken.
