What is a Munch?

A munch is a casual, low-pressure social gathering for people interested in practising ethical non-monogamy (ENM), polyamory, and consensual non-monogamy (CNM). Originally inspired by the BDSM community, munches are typically held in friendly, public venues such as cafes, restaurants, or pubs where attendees can relax and chat comfortably without expectations or judgment. Unlike workshops or play parties, munches focus on conversation, support, and community building. They offer a safe and welcoming space to meet others who share similar relationship values, make new friends, share experiences, and build community.

About Beyond Monogamy SA: Celebrating Relational Diversity

This community is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space that celebrates relational diversity and life beyond monogamy. We honour the many ways people create and sustain relationships — whether polyamorous, swinging, relationship anarchist, in platonic partnerships, or simply connecting differently. Our meetups are casual and agenda-free, offering a chance to normalise diverse relationship styles, celebrate wins, offer support, foster growth, and build a strong, loving community.
