The Melville Art Mile
Every First Thursday, the Melville Art Mile transforms the suburb into Johannesburg's living, walkable gallery. Anchored by the Bamboo Lifestyle Centre in the North, stretching to Die Pienk Kerk in the South, and expanding to the Melville Mudroom in the West, the neighbourhood opens its doors for an evening of colour, rhythm, and authentic community connection.
Navigate the Art
Follow the Lew Geffen Sotheby’s way-finding arrows to discover hidden studios, interactive workshops, and the art and wine market at Joburg Artist Market:
- White Arrows: Lead you North to Bamboo Lifestyle Centre.
- Green Arrows: Lead you West to Melville Mudroom.
- Pink Arrows: Lead you South to Die Pienk Kerk.
Walk or Ride
Whether you’re walking the route secured by MRA & MSI, or zipping between venues on a RE/MAX Rover (Tuk-Tuk), the Art Mile is about reclaiming the street safely.

Getting There
We recommend taking an Uber to enjoy the evening fully. If you are driving, safe dedicated parking is available at:
- Primary: JAM (27 Boxes) Underground Parkade.
- Secondary: Bamboo Lifestyle Centre.
- Tertiary: chiesa di PAZZO LUPi.

There'll be more participating venues and immersive experiences than before! December was the pilot event, this is the grand opening.
