ABOUT

MELVILLE ART MILE: THE GRAND LAUNCH (FEB 2026)

Reclaim the Night. Walk the Art. Feel the Rhythm.

After a flawless pilot event in December, the Melville Art Mile is back—and this time, it’s official. On Thursday, 5 February 2026, we launch our permanent monthly season, transforming Johannesburg’s "Bohemian Heartland" into a safe, walkable, open-air gallery.

From the Bamboo Lifestyle Centre in the north to the Melville Mudroom in the west and Die Pienk Kerk in the south, the entire neighbourhood opens its doors for an evening of colour, culture, and community connection.

NAVIGATE THE ART

Follow the Lew Geffen Sotheby’s wayfinding arrows to discover hidden studios, night markets, and live performances:

  • ?? White Arrows: Lead you North to Bamboo Lifestyle Centre.
  • ?? Green Arrows: Lead you West to Melville Mudroom.
  • ?? Pink Arrows: Lead you South to Die Pienk Kerk.

WALK OR RIDE

Whether you’re walking the route secured by MSI, and Beagle Watch, or zipping between venues on a RE/MAX Rover (Tuk-Tuk), the Melville Art Mile is about reclaiming the street safely.
