This Christmas Eve, gather around An African Christmas Table — an intimate dining experience where tradition, storytelling, and festive indulgence come together in true African spirit.

Hosted by Chefs Lerato Waters-Maine and Leigh Waters-Maine, this special evening celebrates African heritage through food, memory, and shared connection. Drawing on their expertise in indigenous cuisine and gut-health–focused cooking, the chefs reimagine classic African flavours with a festive Christmas touch, honouring both ancestry and celebration.

The evening begins with a warm welcome and a beautifully curated South African cheese board, setting the tone for a night of generosity and togetherness. As glasses are poured, guests are invited into a rich storytelling journey — reflecting on Africa’s culinary history, migration, and the rituals of gathering that have always defined festive tables across the continent.

Each course is thoughtfully paired with expressive South African wines, curated in collaboration with La Richmal Cape Town Wine Emporium, enhancing every flavour and deepening the sensory experience. From dishes inspired by early African foodways to festive interpretations shaped by Cape Malay spice traditions, every plate tells a story of resilience, celebration, and abundance.
