Flavours of Africa: A Sensory Journey Through Story & Taste

Sat Dec 27, 18:00 - Sat Dec 27, 20:30

Makers Landing

ABOUT

Step into an evening where food becomes memory, history becomes flavour, and Africa comes alive on your palate.

Hosted by Chefs Lerato Waters-Maine and Leigh Waters-Maine — experts in the gut-health and indigenous cuisine space. Flavours of Africa is an intimate culinary and cultural experience brought to life in collaboration with La Richmal Cape Town Wine Emporium, who pair each course with expressive South African wines to deepen the journey.

Your evening begins with a warm welcome and a South African cheese board before moving into a vibrant storytelling session that brings the country’s history to life. As the narrative unfolds, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting featuring dishes inspired by early African foodways, followed by a hands-on Cape Malay spice-making moment that fills the room with aromatic warmth. Additional tastings explore the influences, migrations, and modern creativity that shape African cuisine today, each plate revealing a new layer of flavour and heritage.

The night concludes with an open Q&A and shared reflections, bringing the experience together in true African spirit.

Seats are limited.

Reserve your place at the table where flavour, culture, and history meet and let Africa’s stories unfold with every bite.
