ABOUT
The Wealth Migrate team met Bongi as part of the Lemonade day event that was held in Knysna in July
2015. Lemonade day is a charity organization that teaches children the skills of entrepreneurship. Scott
Picken, CEO of Wealth Migrate brought this idea from America to South Africa. Given that he lives in
Knysna, he ran the pilot project during the 2015 Oyster festival.
Bongi is one of the children who stood out. He made a R1 600 profit at Lemonade Day. His parents
say that ‘’it has changed his path, he is now very interested in business’’. While all the other kids went
home Bongi would not leave, staying until he had sold out, he was always the last one there. He showed
true tenacity, passion, and humility over the four-day event.
Following Lemonade Day, Wealth Migrate initiated a fund-raising campaign to support Bongi’s aptitude
for education by raising funds to pay for his tuition fees at Oakhill School. To date funds have been raised,
for his full Grade 8 tuition and part of his Grade 9 tuition. To date, we have received progress reports from
Oakhill confirming that Bongi is doing exceptionally well. He has made the provincial hockey A-Team which
is one year ahead of his age group.
For Bongi to continue at Oakhill and take part in sport we need to continue to raise these fees. Unfortunately,
Bongi was no given a bursary for 2017 due to bursary fund limitations at Oakhill, however, this will be
reconsidered in 2018.
Wealth Migrate is committed to further supporting Bongi’s education. This includes completing High School and
tertiary education (should he show an aptitude for this). We will continue to encourage him on his journey,
ensuring that he takes this opportunity with both hands and prospers to the best of his abilities. The proceeds
from WEALTHMOVEMENT event ticket sales will go towards raising fees for Bongi’s further tuition.

Bongi’s parents also understand that providing an education is important for their son and they will continue to
contribute what they would have towards government school tuition should he have continued this path.
